MultiFlex FAQs

The MultiFlex System is a flexible abrasive system designed for sanding, stock removal and finishing curved surfaces, mouldings, profiles, carvings and complex geometries. It is designed for both professionals and DIY users working in areas such as woodworking, furniture restoration, finishing and sculpture.

The MultiFlex Sander is compatible with any standard drill chuck. For optimum performance, we recommend using a corded drill rated at 600 W or higher, or a cordless drill rated at 18 V or higher. Operate the MultiFlex between 300 and 900 RPM, and never exceed the maximum speed of 1,000 RPM. The use of electric screwdrivers is not recommended.

The MultiFlex System can be used on wood, paints, varnishes, metals, ceramics, fibreglass, rigid plastics and composite materials. In general, it is suitable for any material that can be sanded, ground or polished using abrasive tools.

The choice of grit depends on the type of work and the level of aggressiveness required. The abrasive strips can last for up to 40 hours per set under suitable working conditions, although their service life varies depending on the material and the intensity of the work.

*Slash: abrasive strip cutting width.

*Length: strip length (32 mm → short, 47 mm → standard).

Fustrim MultiFlex Applications

Yes. When the coating is thin or deteriorated, the MultiFlex Sander can be used directly. If the coating is thick or strongly adhered, we recommend removing most of the material first and then using the MultiFlex Sander to remove the remaining residue, sand the surface and prepare it for finishing. The result is a smooth, uniform and high-quality sanding finish.
